Share your love for YWCA Delaware this Juneteenth and all year long. It’s time for our Juneteenth: A Celebration to Freedom annual t-shirt design contest! This contest is open to all residents of Delaware.

The first-place contest winner will receive $250 and have their design featured on the 2024 YWCA Delaware Juneteenth T-Shirts. They will also be recognized in the YWCA Delaware newsletter and social media, and receive a free t-shirt with their design on it. The second-place winner will receive $150, and the third-place winner will receive $100.

Design Guidelines

• One entry per person.

• YWCA Delaware logo must be included in the design.

• Must include the words Journey to Freedom: A Juneteenth Celebration 2024

• No transfer or substitute of prize permitted.

• Winners names, likeness and voice may be used for promotional purposes.
  

Eligibility/Entry

• There is no entry fee to submit a design.

• Winners names, likeness and voice may be used for promotional purposes.

• Only one design submission per contestant.

• If you are under the age of 18, you may create a design but it must be submitted on your behalf by a parent or guardian.

• No donation to YWCA Delaware is necessary to enter a contest; nor will a donation increase your chances to win.

Important Dates

• Submit your design (1 per contestant) April 1 – May 17, 2024

• LAST DAY to submit a design – May 17, 2024

• Public Voting on ywcade.org May 18 – May 25, 2024

• Announcement of contest winner May 28, 2024

Fine Print

By submitting an entry via email, the artist consents that it is his/her own original work and that he/she has all necessary rights and permissions to use any included elements. The t-shirt contest team reserves the right to make adjustments and alterations to the winning entry. The winning artist grants to YWCA Delaware the exclusive right to the design, including any modifications thereof, to be used on promotional/marketing and other YWCA Delaware materials. The artist shall indemnify, defend and hold harmless YWCA Delaware from and against any and all suits, actions, claims, damages, liabilities, judgments, losses and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of any violation of third-party rights (including, without limitation, intellectual property infringement, misappropriation, dilution or violation) in connection with YWCA Delaware’s use, distribution, publishing, sale or exploitation of the design. No submissions will be returned.

Designs will be judged on the following criteria:

• Originality

• Visibility – Is it eye-catching and visible from a distance

• Does it coincide with the mission of YWCA Delaware

• Feasibility – Must be easy to reproduce
