Support That Moves You Forward
When life is too much, whether your health, housing or safety is uncertain, it’s hard to know where to turn. At YWCA Delaware, our Community Health Workers (CHWs) are here to walk alongside you with compassion, care and connection to real help. We’re here to help you take the next step, even when it feels impossible.
Whether you're dealing with illness, struggling to make ends meet, or surviving trauma, we’re here to listen, support and help you access the resources you need to move forward.

About YWCA Delaware’s Community Health Workers
YWCA Delaware’s CHWs are trusted neighbors, cultural bridges, and frontline advocates, many of whom have lived through similar challenges themselves. They understand the fear, the fatigue, and the courage it takes to ask for help. We serve individuals and families across Delaware, especially those in rural or underserved communities, helping remove barriers and restore hope.
Real Impact, Real Change.
Over 2,000 individuals have received housing, healthcare, and community referrals from YWCA Delaware CHWs.
In 2023, 19 staff members became certified CHWs, expanding our ability to meet people where they are.
We partner with local organizations like the Delaware Division of Public Health, ChristianaCare, Wilmington Police Department, and Westside Family Health to connect people to the support they need.
