New Beginnings Garden
Tucked behind YWCA Delaware’s Home-Life Management Center, the New Beginnings Garden is a place where growth happens in many forms. The garden provides fresh, nutritious food for women and families in our emergency and transitional housing programs while offering hands-on learning opportunities in gardening, nutrition, and sustainability.
This is a space for healing, education, and community — where individuals can reconnect with nature, build new skills, and take meaningful steps toward self-sufficiency.
Nourishing Families
The New Beginnings Garden helps ensure that families have access to healthy, fresh food. Produce grown in the garden — including vegetables, herbs, and seasonal crops — supports residents and complements the services of YWCA Delaware’s People’s Pantry.
Learning Through Experience
Our garden serves as a living classroom where participants can learn practical skills that support independence and self-sufficiency. We provide hands-on education in:
