YWCA Delaware Announces Winners of the 2026 Juneteenth T-Shirt Design Contest

Thank you to everyone who participated in YWCA Delaware’s Juneteenth T-Shirt Design Contest and to the many community members who voted for their favorite designs. We were inspired by the creativity, talent, and meaningful artwork shared throughout this contest. We also want to thank everyone who submitted a vote and donated to support YWCA Delaware’s essential housing, health and safety, and economic empowerment programs and services.
We are proud to announce this year’s winners:
• 1st Place — “Free Under the Sea” by Alicia Whitney, 6th Grade
• 2nd Place — “Juneteenth” by Maahirah Jordan
• 3rd Place — “Flags in the Night Sky” by Marie Noble, 4th Grade
Congratulations to our winning artists and heartfelt thanks to every participant who submitted a design.
Anyone who donated $10 or more during the campaign will receive the official 2026 Juneteenth T-shirt.

Community members who register to walk with YWCA Delaware in the DEJA Juneteenth Parade on Saturday, June 13 will receive a free official Juneteenth T-shirt.

2026 Juneteenth T-Shirt Contest Guidelines
Design entries must:
Be suitable for a general audience and clearly reflect a Juneteenth theme.
Be original works created by the artist. Artists may use digital tools to create their work, but the concept, composition, and execution must be their own and created specifically for this contest.
Include space for YWCA Delaware’s logo.
The following are not eligible and will be disqualified:
Designs copied or minimally altered from Canva, stock graphics, or pre-made templates
Artwork generated wholly or partially using AI image generators (including but not limited to DALL·E, Midjourney, or similar platforms)
Designs that closely replicate existing artwork, logos, or previously published designs
DUE DATE: PDF entries are due by April 26, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PST.
Vote for your favorite t-shirt design April 27 - May 10.
The winner will be notified on May 11, 2026.
FINAL PDF Files (high resolution 300 dpi) should be named as follows:
Firstname_lastname_design-title
Design file imagery could be applied to social media, website, printed materials, t-shirts and other communication and fundraising products.
The winning design will be selected through public voting and printed on the official 2026 YWCA Delaware Juneteenth T-shirt.
The top three designs will be featured on YWCA Delaware’s website, newsletter, and social media platforms and will receive prizes issued in the form of gift cards in the following amounts:
1st Place: $250
2nd Place: $150
3rd Place: $100
This contest also serves as a fundraiser for YWCA Delaware, with 100% of proceeds supporting our housing, 24/7 SARC crisis response, economic empowerment programs and advocacy efforts.
How Voting Works
Voting is open: April 27 - May 10, 2026
Beginning April 27 all designs will be featured on our website. You’ll be able to select your favorite shirt in the drop down menu. Each vote is $1. Donate $10 or more and receive the official T-Shirt.
We encourage you to share the contest with friends and family on social media and invite others to support this meaningful fundraiser.

Celebrate the historical significance of Juneteenth with YWCA Delaware at the Delaware Juneteenth Association’s (DEJA) Freedom Parade and Festival in mid-June 2026.
We invite community members to walk with YWCA Delaware in the DEJA Freedom Parade on Saturday, June 13 at 11 AM followed by the festival beginning at 12 noon.
