Throughout the month, we’re spotlighting local business owners who have participated in our Y Elevate Small Business Program and continue to make a meaningful impact across Delaware — from creative arts and fashion to STEM education, food service, and housing support.
These leaders embody innovation, resilience, and community care. Their businesses don’t just serve customers — they empower women, create opportunities, and help our neighborhoods thrive.

Adrieane Jackson
We're proud to spotlight Adrieane Watkins, Founder and CEO of Precious Jubilee Décor | We Deliver Your Balloons 🎈, an award-winning, Black-owned event décor company proudly serving communities throughout Delaware and the surrounding region.
After earning 2nd Place in the YWCA Delaware Y Elevate Pitch Competition, Adrieane continued to grow her vision into a thriving business known for delivering custom balloon décor, event styling, backdrops, marquee displays, and memorable celebrations for families, nonprofits, corporations, and community organizations.
One of the company's most exciting achievements has been the creation of its Mobile Balloon Studio—a traveling workspace that allows her team to bring creativity directly to clients across Delaware. From community events and grand openings to weddings, birthdays, school celebrations, and corporate activations, the Precious Jubilee Décor mobile studio embodies the company's motto: "We Deliver Your Balloons!"
Beyond creating beautiful events, Adrieane is passionate about entrepreneurship, mentoring small businesses, and using business as a way to strengthen and serve the community. Through innovation, creativity, and a heart for service, she continues to inspire others to dream big and build businesses that make a lasting impact.

Aneisha Byrd
Aneisha Byrd is the owner of Cakes by Aneisha, a custom bakery serving scratch-made treats for all of life’s celebrations.
Aneisha’s baking journey began in 2009 at her parents' renowned restaurant, L&G Soul Food, in New Castle, DE. With the support of her late father, Aneisha's passion flourished, making L&G Soul Food celebrated for both savory fare and delectable cakes.
In 2024, Aneisha earned third place in our Y Elevate Small Business Competition. Today, she continues to lead with excellence as she prepares to open her new bakery at 1400 B N Dupont Hwy in New Castle, DE.
Aneisha is a community leader whose artistry and entrepreneurial spirit enrich Delaware’s culinary landscape.
Ashlee Cooper, MLS (ASCP)
Ashlee Cooper, MLS (ASCP), is a STEM educator, former molecular microbiologist, and certified FAA Remote Pilot who traded microscopes for drones. As the first African-American woman FAASTeam Drone Pro in the U.S. Northeast Region, Ashlee leads as the founder of Droneversity, an educational technology company based in Wilmington.
Ashlee introduces drone technology to youth and adults, offering drone certification courses, aviation and STEM workshops, drone light shows, and drone services that support industries from renewable energy to agriculture.
In 2024, Ashlee earned third place in our Y Elevate Pitch Competition and continues to be an inspiring community leader empowering women and young people to take flight.

Martha Morgan
This month, we celebrate Martha Morgan, owner of Morgan’s of Delaware, a chic women’s clothing boutique in downtown Wilmington that’s been serving the community since 1979.
For decades, Martha has been empowering women to look and feel their best through sophisticated, glamorous fashion.

Mr. Enoch Johnson, Sr.
This month, we honor Mr. Enoch Johnson, Sr., owner of B&E Complete Property Preservation Services, a Delaware-based company providing residential and commercial cleaning and moving services.
Mr. Johnson is a community leader who plays an important role in supporting clients in our housing program, helping women and families transition smoothly into their new homes.

Keisha Finnie is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice is rooted in storytelling, identity, and community in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. YWCA Lancaster’s works to showcase the work of Black artists like Keisha Finnie’s vibrant painting and murals.

Kambua Chema
Kambua Chema is a Chicago-based photographer, educator, and creative entrepreneur. She participated in YWCA Chicago’s Breedlove Entrepreneurship Program that helped her fully step into her role as CEO and as a Black woman business owner.
She continues to use photography as a joyful tool for representation, empowerment, storytelling, and connection.

Kema Charles
Lights Camera Discover (LCD), a Black-founded nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth through the arts and STEAM-based programs.
Having participated in YWCA Arizona’s Equity in STEAM program, Kema Charles, the founder continues to serve communities in Arizona, Florida, Georgia and Illinois by expanding access to arts education and breaking the cycle of poverty through creativity, education and other opportunities.

YWCA National Capital Area
The Devine Empowerment Program came out of YWCA NAtional Capital Area’s WE360° program.
Devine Power was created for young women to introduce them to career opportunities while also teaching soft skills to prepare them for the future.
They offer workshops for entrepreneurship, emotional intelligence, professionalism, financial literacy, hair esthetics, life planning, vision and sisterhood.
