Optometrist, Dr. Phyllis Chambers, Family Eye Care

Dr. Phyllis Chambers Mobley is an optometrist practicing in Wilmington, Delaware. Although a proud native of Annapolis, Maryland, Dr. Chambers has lived most of her adult life in Wilmington, Delaware. She attended Morgan State University, where she received her B.S. degree. She continued her education at Salus University, Pennsylvania College of Optometry, where she received a B.S. degree and a Doctor of Optometry degree. Dr. Chambers was the first African American female optometrist in Delaware.
Dr. Chambers, as she is known professionally, has enjoyed practicing family optometry for over 30 years. Dr. Chambers loves her profession and the opportunity it provides for her to impact and interact with her patients and the community. She is also on the staff of Nemours Senior Care, a geriatric health care center in Wilmington. She has provided eye care for the Hudson State Service Center as well as various state and local schools and agencies. ,
Presently, Dr. Chambers is the president of Pearls of Hope Foundation, Inc., an organization that collaborates with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Zeta Omega Chapter. The foundation works to provide community service to diverse communities by providing scholarships and cultural, health, and educational activities that address and support issues that impact the family.
Through her professional and personal pursuits, Dr. Chambers has been able to be an active member of her community. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Zeta Omega Chapter. She is also a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Wilmington and teaches Sunday School. She has been involved in several programs mentoring young women since coming to Wilmington.
Dr. Chambers is married to James Mobley and has three grown children and one grandson.
