Wilmington City Residents May Be Eligible to Receive a $400 Stipend for Completing YW Strive Digital Literacy Training


Thanks to our partnership with Wilmington Alliance, Wilmington city residents in zip codes 19801, 19802, 19805, and 19806 may be eligible to receive a $400 stipend per person upon completion of YW Strive.

YW Strive is a free six-week digital literacy and workforce training program designed to help individuals work productively and collaboratively using Google Workspace. This program offers an assessment to determine which level of YW Strive will be most beneficial for learning about or increasing knowledge of digital skills. After registration, participants receive a Basic Computer Skills Assessment via email to determine placement in YW Strive, or YW Strive Advanced. This program is open to all adults (ages 18 and older). Parents are welcome to utilize YWCA Delaware’s babysitting service at zero cost while attending this program.

YW STRIVE Curriculum Snapshot
Soft skills, transitional skills, and peer support are at the core of all our Workforce Readiness Training Programs. YW strive is unique in that it also incorporates digital skill building. 

Topics Include:
  • Digital Skills for the Workplace (All things Google Drive: Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, Calendars)
  • Presentation Skills
  • Interview Techniques with Mock Interview Partners (professional volunteers)
  • Resume Improvement
  • Financial Empowerment
  • Team Work and Collaboration
  • SMART Goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely)

Hands-On Approach
YW Strive fosters a community of support and hands-on classes and assignments.  Trainees develop and practice skills in real-time in a collaborative, safe environment. Any individual facing employment barriers or barriers to attending college is strongly encouraged to register.

Upon Completion

Participants will receive a certification that demonstrates G-Drive proficiency.
