YWCA Delaware operates several programs across multiple sites to achieve their mission of eliminating racism and empowering women, including a new program called “Emergence.” Emergence will focus on young women, ages 18-25, and will be designed to prevent women from being negatively affected by the gender wage gap, housing insecurity, debt and financial challenges, as wells as preparing them for successful adulthood. This new program will cover basic financial, life, education and/or career skills that are not often taught in high school and college.
To help YWCA determine which programs are most needed for this population, members of the Blue Hen Leadership Program at the University of Delaware have developed a survey asking young women to let us know the topics that most interest them. This survey was shaped by the results of a previous YWCA survey sent last fall, which included questions regarding Academics, Employment, Life Skills, and Personal Wellness.
The top responses were compiled so that young women can now rank their top 4 interests out of the 10 options available (#1 being your first preference). This new survey, which can be completed in 5 minutes or less, will play a fundamental role in creating and structuring the workshops offered by the Emergence program. The survey will close Friday, March 12th.
Your feedback will be greatly appreciated!
