Stand Against Racism

On A Mission for Girls of Color

April 28 – May 1, 2016

Stand Against Racism is a signature YWCA campaign to raise awareness about the negative impact of institutional and structural racism in our communities and is a part of our mission of eliminating racism. In 2016, YWCA Delaware highlighted our commitment to improving the lives of and ending racial discrimination against girls of color with the “On A Mission for Girls of Color” campaign.

With the encouragement of YWCA youth program student leaders at each school, approximately 800 students in 10 schools across Delaware participated by writing a social justice statement or quote on links for an “Inclusivity Chain” that is now prominently displayed at the schools.

Most participants also signed the national pledge to Stand Against Racism.
